Having bosses tell you to cut corners at work is always a challenging situation; it can be hard to tell exactly where a line should be drawn between what your boss wants and what might be (and in this case, definitely was) the right way to do things. In this case, u/Gemini0420 posted to r/MaliciousCompliance to share how their boss was just trying to cut corners in an area of their job that they simply couldn't afford to take shortcuts in. Suffice to say, after they tell their lab manager to alter some inventory reports, the lab gets a bit of a walkthrough inspection, and things quickly blow up from there. It was really only ever going to go that way, wasn't it? Good on OP for coming out on top here.
