Let's be honest, children ask too many questions. It's a beautiful thing how creative they are, but it can also get freaking annoying to explain every single thing in the world to them. If you get them down the "why" train you'll never be able to escape.
"Mommy, why can't I go outside?"
"Because it's freezing"
"Why?"
"Because temperature is under 30 degrees"
"Why?"
"Because it's winter"
"Why?"
"Because we're in the northern hemisphere of Earth"
"Why"
"AHHHHHHHHHHH"
Sometimes it's just easier to throw in a white lie.
User u/Imnotyourodinson took to Reddit to ask people to share the most ridiculous lies their parents told them. Some seem innocent enough, some are just straight-up bonkers. But we all have to keep in mind that being a parent is the fullest of full-time jobs, and sometimes lying is just the fastest way to please your 'customer.'
Ouch, this one carries baggage. But hey just because one of your siblings gets a bunch of attention and affection, and a new iPhone every year, and a new car when they turned 16, and the biggest room in the house, it does NOT mean that they are the favorite... at least that's what I tell myself.
