This is the western pygmy possum, another one of Australia's unique animals (this one won't kill you though!). Pygmy possums are found in the bush and arid scrublands, and at 7.7 cm long they are actually one of the largest pygmy possums in the world. Wow. Their diets consist of nectar, pollen and insects. I wouldn't mind having a few of them in my backyard!

This adorable little creature is almost a kitten - it's a baby caracal, which is a medium sized wild cat. Caracals are known for the cute tufts of fur on their ears and distinct orange-red fur. They are very good at climbing trees, like most big cats, and yes, they purr.

This curious little floof is a black chinchilla. Chinchillas are rodents and have extremely soft fur. They're good at jumping with their hind legs, and they hold food in their front paws and nibble it. Chinchillas have fluffy tails that help with balance, but this one's tail can't be seen in this photo. We think they're adorable!
