Teacher Reported For Ordering Teen Girl To 'Control Her Period' During Zoom Class

Having a period has always been something that frustrates women around the world since so many men bafflingly remain unable to fully understand how they work. For whatever reason, it is still a cringy topic to bring up and young girls are still expected to do ridiculous things like hide their tampons in their sleeves as they excuse themselves from class.

For this teen though, that wasn't even an option. Even in Zoom High School, some teachers still refuse to let their kids 'leave' to go to the bathroom for no reason, and go as far as to kick a student from a Zoom meeting when they choose to use the bathroom… in their own house. It seems that power-hungry teachers have found new ways to make their students' lives miserable. Hey, some things never change. Refreshing, isn't it? 

The 16-year-old eventually reported her teacher and realized that he may lose his job. Now she's asking if she's an A-hole on Reddit for potentially jeopardizing his career — even though she learned multiple other people have complained about the same teacher and this most recent incident was described as "the last straw." What do you think? Should the original poster have "learned to control herself" rather than taken a few minutes to excuse herself to the bathroom?

    Font - AITA for reporting my teacher and potentially getting him fired? My (16f) school requires us to keep our cameras on during the entire class. If we need to use the restroom we are supposed to privately message our teacher and ask to leave. I have absolutely no issue with these rules as I understand that online teaching is hard and you have to make sure everyone is attentive during classes.

    Font - We also have this system where at the end of the week every student is emailed a google document in which we are supposed to type out any problems we had with the classses during the week (eg - a teacher is favouring a student etc..)

    But she is also aware of the systems put in place to help the students if something goes wrong during class. The fact that her school even provides this is very impressive. It shows that they care how their students are being treated.

    Font - On Thursday, I had a math class which was taught by "Mr T". He's never really been very strict and had always seemed quite reserved and quiet. Of course, I've never been in a lesson with him outside of online school so I can't really judge.

    Font - During the class I realized I had started my period. I privately messaged Mr T asking if I could use the restroom. I waited for 10 minutes but he didn't reply so I messaged him again, still no reply. By now I was getting extremely uncomfortable so I texted him for the third time explaining I had started my period and I really had to go.

    Handwriting - He replies with this, "You should have planned better. Learn to control yourself" uhhh... What? I CAN'T control my period. I tried explained that I couldn't but he didn't respond.

    Font - I got annoyed and switched of my camera anyways and left to the bathroom. Ônce I came back, I saw that he had kicked me out of the meeting. I later found out the he had written me for switching of my camera and I was given a warning. I was pissed.

    Font - Since it was a Thursday I received the google doc and I complained about Mr T in it. Today (Tuesday) I found out, through my mother, who is also a teacher that Mr. T is being invesragted as there have been multiple complaints about his behavior and mine was apparently the last straw.
