Yet another thing that never seems to get taught in Adulthood 101 is how the heck a grown up is supposed to make new friends. Being thrown into the social battleground of school and college is an occasionally traumatizing experience, but at least it makes it easier to meet people. Once you enter the world of bills and responsibilities, it's often a different story.
While it's a dilemma shared by many, most are unwilling to admit to it. This has contributed to the huge reaction towards a video produced by duo Brently and Jeafry, in which they ask people on the internet to come and be heir friends. In it, Brently explains how they like to hang out "all over the place" and they demonstrate the things they like to do together, like drinking Slush Puppies and watching movies.
The pair's efforts seemed to strike a chord with a lot of people, who praised them for speaking up and admitted that they had also struggled with expanding their friendship group at times.
Brently has made further videos explaining Jeafry's stunned silence (apparently, he's just very camera shy) and answering Q & As from their followers. They have also gained numerous supporters on Brently's TikTok and Jeafry's Twitch stream.
Although it is an emotion most of us feel from time to time, loneliness can be one of the most difficult feelings for anyone to admit. It can be hard to get past the fear that you will be ridiculed, or even worse, ignored. Whatever you may think of their methods, you've got to admire the bravery these two showed by putting themselves out there. Their positive attitude has won them the admiration of many and hopefully introduced them to a whole host of new people to make memories with.
