Rescue Cat Shows Off Pawsome Polydactyl Mittens

Bruce the Rescue Cat is a very special kitty indeed! Bruce is a polydactyl cat, meaning that he was born with a couple extra toes. Due to this, he has very unique and beautiful mittens, featuring his polydactyly. He uses his extra thumbs to his advantage! Polydactyl Cats are totally pawsome and have an amazing genetic mutation.

"These cats sporting numerous toes are one of the most awesome and fascinating felines; albeit their appearance can be somewhat bizarre to folks who have never seen one. In the United States, these supernumerary-toed kitties have often been called "mitten cats" or "Hemingway" cats. Ernest Hemmingway (the best-selling author of "The Old Man and the Sea" and countless other famous popular classic novels) was a passionate cat lover. He was presented with Snowball (a polydactyl cat) as a personal gift by a ship's captain in 1933. Snowball went on to produce many litters of ploydactyl kittens (the gene passes on).
