A lot of people started out as picky eaters. For whatever reason, it's harder to try new things when we're younger. We become comfortable with one kind of food and it becomes our safety net. This is part of the reason why you can basically find the same 4 items on every children's menu. The OP begins by painting the picture of her birthday night. It was a big family affair. It seems it was important to her to invite as many members as she could. Does that mean she's responsible to accommodate their diets in every way? Let's see.
