Dating is weird. You're trying to smoosh your life into someone else's just to see if it works. There's vulnerability, emotions, and sometimes a pet ferret. And when you're just getting involved with someone, there are a whole lot of land mines just sort of strewn around their personality that you'll never know if you're gonna wander into. Who knows, you could be ordering jambalaya at a restaurant and find out that a childhood field trip to the aquarium left her paralyzingly afraid of shrimp. But that's being too reasonable. People have broken up over things as trivial as "her house was 10 minutes further away than I'd like."
Relationships can unfortunately get messy very quickly. Especially in our younger years we can end up weathering all kinds of nonsense in the dating world. It just comes with the territory of not knowing any better until you gain some of that hard-earned life experience. Honestly, these people sound like they're probably far better off.
