Whether you're super thin, chubby, overweight, even extremely healthy, nobody really appreciates it when people comment on their weight. Everybody thinks they are some kind of nutritionist, it's bizarre. Unless you are a licensed doctor, there really is no reason to give your opinion on someone's weight. Even if your intention is solely to give them a compliment it can make them feel uncomfortable. It's really safer to just… not.
The fact of the matter is that there are so many more interesting things about a person, so why point out something so shallow?
It was u/okfinemom who took to the 'Am I The A-Hole' community on Reddit to ask if they were in the wrong for telling his wife's friend to go and eat a salad. This is a pretty ridiculous thing to say to someone, there must be more to the story.
Before diving in, the OP provides some much-needed backstory. He talks about both his and his wife's relationship with food and eating in general. Seems like he knows a bit too much about her weight... But maybe that's just us.
