There are obviously 'ways' around it, but they are by no means easy or easily affordable. Adoptions don't happen overnight, and not every couple has tens of thousands of dollars to try IVF or find a surrogate mother. Since getting pregnant is often one of our biggest fears in our young adult years, it can be hard to understand someone is going through the opposite experience. however, you don't have to be an expert on these topics to be empathetic towards anyone you know going through it.
