It's true that most of us truly need to work to survive. Some of us even thrive on working in a fast-paced or challenging environment. It can be thrilling. But since all the fun of 2020 occurred, getting shit done has gotten harder. Not just because mental health is at an all-time low, and not just because it feels like the world is crumbling around us. For some people, work has gotten harder. People in retail and food service are straight up risking their lives so that people can either be safe or enjoy a meal or drink out on the town.
It's easy to imagine that the people who have been working from their apartments or houses have it better. But it's just different. Well, they're still at "the office." So while we're not suggesting that we abolish work in all its forms, it's important to see this stuff for what it really is: a necessary pain in the ass. And one that's become consistent fodder for some seriously relatable memes and tweets.
