Anyone who has worked retail knows how this story goes. You're weary after a long day of interacting with hordes of people and glad for the respite that closing the doors offers.
As soon as you've turned the key... A wild Karen appears. Peering in through the glass door or a nearby window, desperately trying to lock eyes with a wayward employee to trap them and pull them into their clutches. If this fails, they will launch into a siren song to the chorus of "Hello? Anyone in there? Why can't you help me?".
Usually, this ends with management getting involved to avoid an absolute shipwreck and explaining how opening hours work to the expectant.
This is how it was for u/TRTVitorBelfort, who shared this story to r/talesfromretail. This old guy was not understanding that being even one minute late after close meant that the store was closed. The employees have lives and want to go home. Your entitled ignorance is the only thing preventing that from happening.
