One thing you'll learn from this story? Don't share winnings with friends if you're gambling and win big. It won't end well.
Redditor u/MyMoneyOurMoney posted this brutal example to r/tifu by explaining that they and three of their friends won a bit of money on the lottery, but everyone got suspicious about what they'd do with the winnings how to break it all up.
As OP writes, items were thrown, names were called, and OP resorted to getting a lawyer who basically told them and their friends that they had no case against the friend who argued with them. In the end, OP's landlord kicked them and their roommates all out of then house, a second lawyer was required to tell them there wasn't much to do about it, and OP now says that they had to sell some of their belongings just to stay in a hotel before they start couch hopping.
For more awful tales, read about the woman who was unfairly banned from a grocery store after her young child took a sweet.
