People love using the word "manifesting" as a half-joking method of actively trying to make something happen in their life, but usually people don't take it this seriously. Redditor u/Dr_Squirtle1 posted to the popular Reddit community r/antiwork to describe one situation in which someone actually did take "manifesting" way, way too seriously. This user wrote that his fiancé was fired from her job at a bridal shop for jokingly "manifesting" a customer not showing up for an appointment. For some reason, a co-worker decided to tattletale for this made-up offense. For some reason, the boss in question here took it seriously.
Some people are more into the mystical end of the world than others, but even the most spiritual of us can't possibly believe that an employee can actually manifest the demise of someone else's business with their brain. There would be one million better uses of that power if this were possible.
In the last week we've seen someone get fired for a 99 cent tea and now this. What's next?
