Electrician Gets Shocked by Everything He Touches in Client’s Home, Sparks Heated Debated Between Professionals and Amateurs

I'm no electrician, but I'm suspecting something's wrong here… Electrician and TikToker @mrsparechange recently went viral after sharing a house he was working on. The clients said that they kept getting shocked, but it was much worse than that. In the video the electrician goes around showing how everything in the home is charged, even the cabinet handles, which are surrounded by wood. How can that even be possible?

Part 1

Makes sense that the client kept getting zapped, you could hardly touch anything in that home without getting shocked! Many professionals chimed in with possible reasons and solutions while others took this as an epic opportunity to let their electrician humor thrive. Even some amateurs decided to give some advice even though it's obvious they have no idea what they're talking about…

Part 2

One viewer kicked off the antics with a cringy electrician pun saying the house must be located on “electric avenue"—a reference to an Eddy Grant song. Another suggested that this must be the place the electric slide was invented. Someone else commented that the house must have been built on top of a “loading lightning strike.” And, of course, there were several Stranger Things references, saying the house must be the entrance to the Upside Down or it's where Vecna lives. Some are in complete disbelief, accusing the electrician that his tools must be malfunctioning.

Part 3

Professional electricians start to chime in providing suggestions to what could possibly be going on. Eventually, the electrician who posted the TikTok provided follow-up videos explaining the situation. Long story short, the home had water damage all over and it was not properly bonded.

“We were taught that this could happen in school, but I've never actually seen it in the field,” one electrician commented. “Thank you for sharing your experiences!” Another said, “No wonder the house is hot.” “Definitely a Friday job,” someone else added. Most are just shocked (pun intended) that this job got past inspection.

Part 4

The issues was fixed after they bonded the neutral and ground. (Again, not an electrician over here, so hoping I worded that right…) “It was just placed in the wrong spot,” he cleared up for a commenter.
