Some—no… many employers are unfair to those they employ. If you've ever worked more than one job in your life, you've probably encountered one. Rarely, though, do you hear about something as dastardly as this post by Redditor u/themarkofcjay to the popular subreddit r/antiwork, which should make your blood boil.
This user worked at a major grocery chain, rarely gets a lunch break because they're always so understaffed, and got suspended from work and then fired all for the crime of simply taking a sip of a $0.99 iced tea they took from the story — while they were in line to pay for it.
It's one thing to maybe be suspicious in the first instance when you see an employee consuming a product on the premises. To actually send the employee packing for such a non-issue is plainly ridiculous and a great example of why you should always be suspicious of your employer. They're suspicious of you.
It's crazy what some people are being fired for at the moment.
