Twitter user @Octopus/Caveman and his 5-year-old son were treated to a real surprise when his son put some Trix cereal into his ant farm.
For some reason the presence of the cereal mysteriously caused the ants to start bringing out the corpses of their dead to stack on top of the Trix. The ants' absurd behavior has been puzzling the user, his son, and the rest of Twitter. Some of the speculations are wild but there are some pretty solid and interesting explanations too, particularly the ones that suggest some of the ingredients in Trix (canola oil, sunflower oil) contain a significant amount of oleic acid. That type of acid is apparently the substance that makes ants aware that one of their ant-friends has died. Naturally, with a bizarre discovery like this, Twitter had all sorts of fun de-coding the mystery and subsequently making memes about it.
