We pet owners know that our pets are our babies, and there are very few people we trust to give them the care and attention they deserve adequately. When push comes to shove, sometimes we need to arrange for some last-minute pet care. There are several sites where petsitters can advertise their services and pet owners scavenge through them carefully selecting whom they believe to be the best fit.
Only sometimes, pet sitters fall short of expectations. And this is something we are just not willing to compromise on. OP brings up an important discussion about the extent to which people should be screening their potential pet sitters to avoid any potential unfortunate situations. Others voice the importance of cameras in the house for easy monitoring access. That seems a little invasive to us, but our babies deserve the best.
We can not imagine why anyone who hates dogs would voluntarily dog sit. This is truly terrible. OP's emphasis on the need to screen pet sitters' social media in our opinion, is totally valid. It may seem a little invasive, but you are literally entrusting this person with the care of your dear pet. You've got to be certain that you're putting your trust in the right person.
These kinds of terrible instances make us furious as heck. The AUDACITY to send the doggo's owner a premeditated photoshoot as if the photos were taken on different days, we're not sure if this is illegal, but it should be.
