As reported by Love Meow, about a month ago, Dan from Aspen Hill Exxon was on his way to the bank when the fateful encounter happened. "I was walking past a bush and heard a little 'mew'. I looked under this Acura and saw a kitten," Dan said.

Being an animal lover and already owning two cats, Dan couldn't leave without checking on the little kitten. The grey kitten was hunkered down underneath the vehicle until she heard Dan's voice. That is all it took for her to make her move. "What surprised me the most is when I called to her she ran up and jumped in my arms."

Dan was delighted, like any cat person would be, by the sudden onslaught of affection. He did look around the area to see if there were other cats or if someone was missing a pet but her couldn't find anyone. There was an animal hospital nearby, so that's where Dan took the kitten. "Nobody there knew anything (as the cat didn't have a chip), but they gave me a cup of food to help out," Dan explained.

Dan returned to his automotive repair shop the same day with the kitten in his arms, and immediately, she lit up the room for the employees there. "We set up a little nest and some food and water and used some oil dry absorbent as a litter box. She did great," Dan said. "Everybody who came to the shop that day was in love, especially my staff."

In the office, the kitten wouldn't stop following Dan around, offering very useful "help" by rubbing up against him every once in a while. Meanwhile, Dan and the other employees reached out to social media to try to find the kitten's owner. "Some days at work are better than others because this beautiful little girl came in with me today. She found me at the bank."

When the workday ended, Dan took the kitten home with him so she could have a comfortable place rest and plenty of food to eat. The kitten sat on his arm the whole trip home and seemed so pleased to be with him. No one came to claim the kitten for days, and Dan was determined to find her a good home where she would be loved and spoiled.

"I already have two cats and one is older and kind of grumpy, so we decided it's best to find her a forever home with my daughter's best friend," Dan said. "Lily (named after Layhill because she was found in that shopping center) is doing great, and absolutely loving life. We know that she's going to get nothing but love for the rest of her days."

Now, Dan and his staff receive regular updates on Lily which always make them smile.
