Man Gets Revenge On Roommate By Becoming His Pet Cat's Favorite Person

Hi friends! It's another day, and another opportunity to remind anyone who isn't already one of our pawsome readers: Don't adopt a pet cat if you don't have the proper resources to take care of it! And yes, sadly this also means people whose roommates or family members do not consent to them adopting a pet in their shared living facility. If you think the people you pay rent with might object to you adopting an animal, then here's a pet pro-tip: ask them first, you might be able to save yourself from a brutal legal battle over a cat. 

Today we have a story about a man whose roommate adopted a cat against his explicit wishes not to. Fortunately the story has a fun twist, this man decided to make his a-hole roommate's pet cat love him more than the roommate or anyone else. This was shockingly easy to do, and the results were pretty hilarious, take a look at what happened after he began project 'become-the-pet-cat's-favorite' and succeeded:

    Font - We have known each other for over a decade, but when we went to college we decided to stay together (which he made clear, that if he did go back in time, he would rather choose to be alone). Things have been rough here and there but at the end of the day we are both happy-ish.

    Wow, what an awful roommate! There's going to be a cat story at the end of the tunnel that we've been promised, but we just want to make it clear that the OP should ditch his awful roommate, decades-long-friendship be damned, if the guy is really as toxic as they're making him sound in this paragraph.

    Font - So about two months ago he decided to buy a cat without even considering my opinion. He asked me once when we first moved in, about two years ago, and I did say that I would not like to have one.

    Font - So as I am sitting in the living room he comes home with his new cat, which I reacted to. I kept telling him that I should be included in such decisions and that he can't just do something this big without giving me notice. He replied saying that my opinion did not matter to him, he did not feel the need to include me, and then he continued while smirking, regarding the notice, well now you know.

    Font - I was pissed. After we finished our verbal fight, he conveniently got a phone call and went into his room and never came out that day.After taking my time in my room, I came up with the plan to use the cat against him.

    Font - I decided instead of ignoring her, I would shower her with love. My plan was simple, to steal her love. I started by giving her treats and slowly getting closer to her. And wouldn't you know it, it worked. As I am typing this she is sitting right besides me.

    Font - charlotte-ent Yeah I was initially nervous to read what was done to the cat. OP you think this is revenge but you're risking that you'll get attached and be heartbroken when he and the cat move on one day.

    Font - tedivm I moved to California in 2008 and my roommate in Massachusetts had a cat that absolutely loved me- we were super attached. I was getting upset about the idea of leaving him when my roommate approached me and said "You know you need to take Hiro with you right?". He's sitting next to me right now. Sometimes it's the cat that picks the owner- hopefully they can come to some arrangement if this is how it works out.

    Font - GrWr44 Your (ex) roommate is tops! There was a story/posting from a guy who'd been very close to his gf's dog, who became more attached to him than her. She was a good owner and there wasn't a question that the dog was going with her when she moved across country. He expressed his regret for not being able to explain it to the dog, and tell him he was a good dog. Stuck with me.
