We're always told that parenting is super challenging but rewarding at the same time. As many parenting books we read, we never feel like we'll have it down pat. The truth is, no matter how prepared we feel like we are, nobody out there really has it down pat. Parenting is a learning experience for the parents themselves. The kids may be learning about the world for the first time, but we'll be taking our first step too as parents given the fact that everything is new to us when comes to this special role. We just wish there was a rulebook out there about how to be the perfect parent. Even though there's no official, all-encompassing book, Twitter might as well be the platform to go to for parents who are looking for some comic relief tweets about the triumphs and defeats of parenting. There's a whole community of parents on the platform who are down to regularly make jokes about their kids with strangers on the internet, as well as share serious parenting tips and inspo with other parents. Twitter user @clhubes shared a tweet with an awesome parenting pro-tip about taking her kids to Petco instead of spending money on the aquarium because they can't tell the difference anyway. People added to the thread regarding their own hacks to saving money when it comes to entertaining their kids, and it's adorably hilarious.
We love this Twitter mom. It may not be the aquarium, but it's good enough for this mama and her kids who won't even be able to tell the difference. None of the women of Cheezcake are parents, but we'll definitely keep this tip in our arsenal for the little ruffians we might have in the future. We just hope the pet store employees are cool with our annoying kids spending hours in their stores creepily staring at the fish and making a ruckus. We know for a fact that our kids are going to be annoying because they're our direct descendants and we're annoying AF.
Oh gosh, how we miss Toys R Us. 23 years ago, we were kids too. Now that we're adults and have a more clear understanding of the world, we're positive that our parents pretended to take us to playgroup when we were really just at the local Toys R Us. Not that we're complaining about being taken to Toys R Us regularly. That toy store was an awesome place to spend a day back in the day. We'll be taking our kids to whatever toystore is popular in the future and convince them we're at an amusement park. It worked for our parents, and it'll work for us too.
