"nothing will prepare you for the final reveal" - Twitter Users React to Cramped 2 Million Dollar Home in Toronto

The value of a dollar feels more like the value of a penny these days. When I go to the grocery store it feels like I'm spending double what I used to, mostly thanks to inflation and partially thanks to the greed of NYC grocery stores. The $8 romaine lettuce has me reeling. This surge has got nothing on that of real estate, which after the pandemic lull is back in masochistic action, destroying the dreams of millennials everywhere. Sadly, self-styled real estate moguls and agents are taking to social media more than ever, composing TikToks to entice the app-addicted masses. It's hard to accept that you will never own a home, but it's even harder when you're forced to relive that truth every time you log into one of your godforsaken social media apps. That said, every now and then one of those TikToks or Instagram posts makes its way onto your feed and you can't help but laugh at the idiots who are willing to pay 2022 prices for, well, absolute garbage. Today, my friends, was one of those days.

This tweet from @della_morte_ was hard to ignore thanks to its text: "It's bad all the way through but nothing will prepare you for the final review." In this scenario “it” refers to a home walkthrough shared by @realtor_nero. The TikTok reads “This is what $1.95 M Buys you in Toronto.” We hope it's not meant to be a brag because the video is both puzzling and offensive.

It's clear that the building, a multi-floor "tiny home" is meant to seem impressive in its use of space. But there are a couple of glaring issues:

  1. The home's outlandish price
  2. The location of the toilet.

Issue #2 is likely the reason this video has gone viral on Twitter and its original home, TikTok. Users were flabbergasted at the bizarre placement and weren't afraid to express their feelings about the conspicuous commode or any of the expensive structure's other serious flaws.

If this is the kind of thing we're saving up to own, I'm done. Renting it is.
