Oblivious Dude Can't Find Grocery Stores In New York City

Meet Griffin Green, a former football player for Denison University and a brand new NYC resident. Green was shocked that when he googled grocery stores, he didn't find the types of grocery stores he was used to and instead found bodegas and corner stores.

Fellow Tiktokers pointed out that he's living in a food desert, where affordable and cheap food is harder to come by and intentionally gatekept from primarily Black and Latino neighborhoods.

His video circulated on Twitter, where New Yorkers pointed out his elitism and inaccuracy.

Green responded to his critics mockingly, which didn't do anything to help his public image. Twitter users found other questionable videos he'd posted, which led to Green making his TikTok account private.

One Twitter user found that he posted his “personal and confidential” offer letter on TikTok, which would explain why he might not be the brightest crayon in the box.

Yikes. While some Twitter users wondered if he would get fired for his TikToks, especially the one exposing confidential information, no large-scale online campaign has formed for that yet.

There's a big difference between being merely ignorant and being so wrong, so loud and doubling down. Moving into a new community is not something to be taken lightly, and listening and learning are essential before sharing your disrespectful takes on TikTok and acting a fool. If you do the latter, you might just become a Twitter main character.
