You you know how, normally, we're the ones adopting animals. You know, we think about it for a long time, wonder which animal we would like to adopt, how old that animal should be, do we have the funds for only one or perhaps a few more? Adopting a pet is not an easy choice for a lot of people, but it's almost always that - a choice. Some animals though don't leave us a choice. It's true that most times, we're the ones choosing them, but other times, the animals are the ones who adopt the human, and we have no choice but to simply follow along.
Such is the story of a cat who was spotted hanging around a neighborhood in Southern California for some time. She was a stray cat - living her life and chilling outside. One day though, she had stopped in a family's yard for food, then kept coming back. The family was clearly carefully chosen by the cat, so they accepted their fate, providing meals and whatever else she needed. And they continued doing that even when she showed up pregnant.

As reported by Love Meow, one weekend last month, the kitty came up to the homeowners that she chose, clearly showing signs of having given birth. "She went up to the people looking for help right after she had her babies," Jen Marder, a foster volunteer of Wrenn Rescues, recalled.
When the family found her kittens in their yard, they saw that two of them were in rough shape. "The wonderful people got the mom and the babies cleaned up, and went and got a heating pad to help out the babies." Clearly, the momma cat knew the right people to approach for help, even at this moment when she was clearly vulnerable.
Their plea on Facebook was seen by Jen, and she did not hesitate before picking them up. "I got them the next day, when the babies were one day old," Jen said. "When they first arrived, the kittens were just tiny little peanuts. Mama was immediately friendly, sweet and purring. She is just an adorable doll."
The cat, named Queen Bee, was estimated to be one year old - a very young mother. It was obvious that she was pleased to be inside at last - purring up a storm as she situated herself and her babies in their comfy new bed. She was attentive to her "beehive" from the start, cleaning them and making sure that they got plenty of food.

Sadly, despite her best efforts, the runt of the little did not make it, but at least it was surrounded by love and warmth during its short life. The other kittens, after having finally opened their eyes, were getting more active and curious, doing their best to eagerly explore their surroundings. And Queen Bee was watching their every step.
"Mama is doing such a great job with her babies. She is going through food awfully fast as she fills herself up so she can feed these littles," Jen shared, talking about how Queen Bee responds to the kittens' high-pitched squeaks and squeals.
"She has started coming out of the nest to greet me as the babies are getting a little bigger. She loves to twirl herself around my legs and rub against me. She is such a good girl who is going to make someone so very happy when she is adopted."
The kittens - Bumble Bee, Worker Bee, and Busy Bee - just turned three weeks old, and reached their one-pound milestone ahead of time. Soon enough, the little kittens will have grown enough to venture outside their nest and learn to use their feetsies, and the momma will finally get a well-deserved break.
"Queen Bee is such a good mama. She is so attentive, never straying too far from the little ones. She is constantly cuddling them with her arms wrapped around the babies. It melts me every time," Jen explained. After being a street cat for her whole life, Queen Bee really took to being an indoor cat and is clearly enjoying every second of it, and we're enjoying seeing it.
