Posting to r/MaliciousCompliance, they detailed how they used to get sent on assignments at the Theater District in New York, and were given a food allowance for the trip. As they didn't have the energy to eat out all the time, they decided to stock up on groceries for the week. However, the accounting department was skeptical of what they were doing. In retaliation, they decided to start living a life of luxury.
Naturally, people were delighted at the way in which they had managed to turn the situation around, with many shaking their heads at the seemingly pointless bureaucracy on display. Some even added their own tales of accounts gone mad. One thing's for sure, spending money that's not yours rarely gets more stressful than when you're doing it for work.
