Cat Who Cried In Pain Whenever Touched Gets Rescued, Recovers, And Finds The Purrfect Forever Home
Cats are an animals that is known for being incredibly independent. They're fierce, they're hunters, they know what they're doing… most of the time. Sometimes, cats, with their endless curiosity and pension for trouble, find themselves getting hurt, getting sick, losing their ability to take care of themselves. Sometimes, those sick cats on the streets need rescuing. There are even times when cats in need will approach humans for help, no matter how scared they are, because they're smart enough to know they need it.
The story of Andrew is thankfully a story with a happy ending. He's a cat who was sick and was rescued, and who, after a while, not only made a complete turnaround in terms of his health but also managed to find himself an absolutely purrfect forever home.

As reported by Love Meow, an awwdorable tuxedo cat showed up in a park in the Bronx, New York, looking for food. He was all skin and bones, visibly sick and clearly in need of help. Thankfully, a local rescuer noticed him and tried to help. Despite the good intentions though, when the woman gave the cat a plate full of food, he was unable to eat. He wanted to, the woman could see that, but he was drooling from the mouth and appeared to be in pain.

She reached out to Little Wanderers NYC to get the cat the medical attention that he obviously needed. "He had a severe oral infection and could barely eat. His rescuer fed him liquids, as he cried in pain when trying to eat anything else," Little Wanderers NYC said. They named the cat Andrew. He had to have four of his teeth extracted and get treated for an infection.

After the procedure, he felt so much better. He stretched his toes, reached out for pets, and purred like he's never purred before. All he wanted after the procedures was to be loved. "He did not belong on the street, and he is so grateful."

When he was ready, Andrew was taken into foster care where he continued to recuperate. Other cats scared him a bit, and he much preferred to be in the company of humans. He would curl up next to his carer and want nothing than to be petted all day long. "He's a super affectionate chap with only headbutts and kisses to give. He's got big chubby cheeks and is the absolute sweetest!"

After so long on the street, it was clear that Andrew was ready to be the indoor cat that he was meant to be. And when he moved in with another foster volunteer, Jeff, Andrew took it upon himself to win over him. He followed Jeff everywhere around the house, filling the space with his awwodrbale purring. He put his paws on Jeff, insisted on spending time with him, and waited for Jeff to come home every single day so that he shower him with head bumps and kisses.

Before long, Jeff realized that it was fate and that he absolutely could not part with Andrew. "I can hands-down say he's the most affectionate, nice natured and trusting animal I've ever met. His purrs are as loud as a parked Harley Davidson with the engine left running," Jeff wrote.

Andrew has found his forever home, and he seems extremely happy there. "His biggest worries are what time dad will be home from work to cuddle and feed him. These two have the sweetest bond ever," Little Wanderers NYC wrote.

"Andrew was in rough shape when he was rescued from the Bronx. He was fully vetted and received a dental and is now a completely different cat," Little Wanderers NYC added. "He now spends his days giving his dad head butts, and helping his dad host parties."
