Every girl in the 2000s owned a classic Delia's graphic T. Delias bright-colored clothing became synonymous with the '90s and 2000s style. Unfortunately, Delias filed for bankruptcy in late 2014. Lucky for us many popular modern brands have been doing nostalgic collabs with Delias recently and have been giving us all our Y2k fantasies.

Wet Seal
Wet Seal was the go-to place to get 12$ lacey camisoles and patterned leggings. Unfortunately in 2015 Wet Seal went bankrupt and was forced to close all its brick and mortar stores in 2017.

American Apparel
The coolest of cool girls shopped at American Apparel. From the knit baby Ts to zip-up hoodies and disco pants American Apparel made shopping American made clothes cool again. After allegations towards brands founder Dov Charney of sexual misconduct in 2014, the company could no longer stay afloat and closed the brand in 2016.

Limited Too
A bedazzled Limited Too T-shirted will forever be Iconic. Although "limited too" is still in existence, in 2015 It was rebranded under a new owner as "Justice".

Charlotte Russe
Unfortunately in March of 2019, it was announced that Charlotte Russe would be closing all of its stores due to bankruptcy. We can all thank Charlotte Russe for the many cheap satin bat mitzvah dresses we still have hanging in our closets.

What Happened To Our Favorite Y2K And 2000's Clothing Stores
Picture this it's 2012, you call up your friends on your Nokia flip phone and tell them it's time to hit the mall for your back-to-school shopping. Uggs on, flower Headband in hair, chunky belt around your waist, and Auntie Annes in hand you are ready alongside your middle school besties to shop your favorite stores. Unfortunately, this fabulous nostalgic fantasy must forever just live in our memories since many of our beloved 90s and 2000s brands are no longer a thing. From Delia's to Charlotte Russe we owe these brands a big ole thanks for all the awkward myspace and Tumblr outfit pics haunting us on the internet. From bankruptcy to alarming allegations many storefronts were forced to be closed leaving us Millennials to (probably for the best) look somewhere else for our clothes.
