TikToker @variableminerva saw a video of a woman shocked when her pregnant belly “dropped.” This content creator thought it was weird, since her pregnant belly moves up and down all the time. She decided to end the sensationalizing video by debunking that “shocking” moment and show TikTok how easy it is to move a pregnant belly up and down.
“That viral video that was like ‘moment catches moment that baby bump drops’ kind of confused me because…” the TikToker says and then proceeds to drop her baby bump. “Like, the go up and down, they're very muscle-y.” She then proceeds to do it over and over again as if her baby was doing crunches inside her womb.
She posted this video thinking that anyone who has ever been pregnant before or around a pregnant person would be able to relate. Unfortunately, through this video she found out the hard way that this ability is actually not as common as she thought. In fact, many viewers were grossed out by it.

The next video she posted was her laughing and admitting she truly thought this was a universal thing pregnant women could do with their bellies. She had no intention to emotionally damage any of her viewers. “It has been brought to my attention, that this may not be as universal of an experience as I thought, ” she says between bursts of laughter. “I sincerely apologize to anyone who was freaked out.”
Apology Video
Though many of the commenters are calling her baby belly abilities “disgusting," “disturbing,” or even “horrifying," she's being a great sport about it. She is confident in her pregnant body and isn't taking offense to any of these comments. In fact, she says that when she gets these comments it's either about the pregnant belly video or another video she made about Target selling weird hairy shoes. Mostly, she just finds it hilarious how confident she was that this was a universal thing, when, in fact, it definitely was not.
Though many viewers are mostly freaked out, there are a few here and there that do relate, saying they were able to do that for their pregnancies as well. Some are even excited about it, saying they hope they have that “super power” when they get pregnant.
