What would life be without massive blunders and mistakes?
Pretty nice, probably. But we'll never know a life without chaos, so spending time thinking about such a utopia is kind of a massive waste of time. Yeah, we should try to solve problems in general, and we should still work toward generally better outcomes for everyone. But at the same time, it doesn't look like we're getting any closer to a world devoid of water damage done to hardwood floors.
These are the cards we're dealt, and we've got to play them as best we can. That's a terrible analogy, since most poker games let you fold or choose to play a different game entirely, but maybe that's what life is: gambling without a second chance or do-overs.
At least we can commiserate over our own collective failures and enjoy the fact that we very rarely have to deal with everything going wrong at the same time. Sure, your toilet might explode, but it's unlikely to happen on the same day that you get a summons for jury duty. It's at least something.
