Great Dane Left Depressed and Puppy-Less Due to a False Pregnancy Is Happier Than Ever Now After She's Given an Orphaned Chihuahua Puppy

If you've ever experience your dog having a false pregnancy, it is truly heartbreaking. Basically, when a dog has a false pregnancy it means she will usually have all the symptoms of being pregnant, like the urge to nest, milk filling her, etc. So when no puppies come out, it can leave a mama pup changed forever. This is what happened to the Great Dane Birdie and she was left absolutely heartbroken and devastated. 

The mama of the Great Dane was obviously very concerned when she noticed Birdie being very depressed after the false pregnancy. So when she talked to the vet about it, he just happened to have some orphaned puppies. They were left on the side of the road and didn't have a great chance of living since they were so young and motherless. Though they were itty bitty chihuahua puppies, they decided to see if Birdie would take them in as her own puppies. And you better bet she did! 

Birdie instantly brightened up when the puppies were introduced to her. She was more than ready to take on her motherly role as dog mom. She immediately started grooming them and nursing them. Though Birdie was the best mom she could be, one of the puppies didn't make it. However, the one named Frog did and they are now growing up together and Birdie continues to be the best mom to her. 

The difference was light and day when it came to Birdie getting puppies after her false pregnancy. She was definitely falling into a heavy spiral of depression, which no dog deserves because they are precious. Then, when she was given her new babies, she was instantly a happy pup again. She was, of course, a gentle mom who very carefully taught them how to be a pup and good dogs. But she always was able to turn back into her old happy self, wanting to play and cuddle again. 

Birdie is also a service dog for her human mom, so of course she wanted to do anything she could to get her great dane happy again. And now, she has one huge dog and one itty bitty tiny smol chihuahua dog that is happy to have a mom 1,000x her size.
