Oh, we have all heard the age-old story of "cats and dogs hate one another". We've heard it for our whole lives. "To fight like cats and dogs" is an expression for a reason. People see cats and dogs, see how different they are behaviorally, and think that it is natural for them to hate one another. We dispute that. It is untrue. Cats and dogs can be absolute BFFs, and we have the proof right here.
Maybe not all cats and dogs will be friends, but under the right circumstances, a friendship between a cat and dog can blossom quite easily. And yeah, a friendship between a cat and a dog can be a little whacky - they are very different animals at the end of the day. But that friendship would be just as valid and just as strong as between two dogs or two cats. And it'll be thirty million times more wholesome, because it happened despite their inherent differences.
"My kitten & her emotional support dog. The dog is 3/4 blind & the kitten was semi feral when I got her. If she is touching the dog, & he is not worried about movement or a person, then she isn't either. If she is not touching the dog, & it's someone who lives here, she runs to a crate or behind the furniture, then comes back when she realizes it's safe."
Our favorite thing in the whole world has to be seeing animals that are so different from one another working together. In this post and in the previous one as well. It just proves that biological differences are not everything and that they certainly shouldn't hinder us from trying to work together and be friends.
