Those of us who own cats know one thing for sure, and that is that cats are super affectionate. If someone dares say otherwise to a cat owner, you can watch their tails poof up with anger, because we go into defense mode and start defending our cats immediately. It's just that we know that cats are so hekcin' misunderstood. People compare them to dogs so much that they have lost sight of the fact that cats a separate animal and that cats show affection to their humans in ways that are different than dogs or humans.
It's true, of course, that some cats, just like any other pet, will take a while to get used to their owners and show them that they love them, but that does not mean that they don't. And it's also true that sometimes cats show affection in funny ways. They're unique! Just like we are. And we have to learn a cat's pattern of behavior just like with any other animal. Twitter knows that, and they will defend cats alongside us until the end of time.
When we look at some cats, we honestly believe that their level of affection goes beyond just love and into obsession. Seriously. Why else would our cats yell at us if we go to the bathroom without us or if we stay in the shower for slightly too long? Obsessed. That's what they are. We are sure of it, and we're obsessed back.
This. This! Yes! Like- it's true that to sit on our thighs sometimes means having to toss a laptop or two off them, but they don't understand the importance of a laptop, they only want love. It's beautiful, and yes, one of our cats did make us almost drop a laptop once, but it was worth it.
