There is nothing quite like the miracle of birth - and that's true both for humans and for animals. To witness a cat giving birth is a beautiful thing, and to help a cat through it is even more so. We have seen many wonderful stories of good people helping out pregnant cats. All the way from when a bunch of good Samaritans found an abandoned and neglected pregnant cat and gave her a safe place to give birth, to a cat in the middle of active labor being found abandoned outside with a note and thankfully getting rescued, all the way to a man finding a random cat giving birth under his bed and becoming a cat dad to six kitties.
These stories always warm our hearts, and this one is no different. When a wife came home one day and told her husband that she might want to foster a pregnant kitty, he did not imagine that she meant to do it right then. But, that's what happened, and since shared the whole process online, we decided it was only right to say thank you to him.
"Yesterday my wife asked me how I'd feel about fostering a pregnant cat for a few weeks while she gave birth to and raised kittens. I was kinda busy so I mumbled "Sure, that would be cool someday." Well, I was greeted this afternoon by a very pregnant cat. I guess today is someday. Wish us luck."
"She has a fluffy bed, a blanket lined box, and 2 towels in the room we've prepared for her to birth her kittens in, but she chooses to sleep in her food and water tray."
"No sign of kittens yet, but I did have a chance to take some nice photos today. Here is my favorite one. And, as a bonus, I also added a photo on Toby in his bed, which he LOVES."
"Still no kittens. Jade is a goofball. This is her favorite position to sleep in."
"The kittens! ... haven't come yet. But Jade's winter coat is coming off and she is shedding like crazy. She's been having contractions on and off for 2 days. So it has to be soon, right?"
"The kittens were FINALLY born! All 5 are nursing and active. We are OOT for spring break, but our neighbors (who have 3 cats) are taking care of her and checking in every few hours. Can't wait to get home to see them at the end of the week!"
"Jade, the pregnant foster cat my wife brought home as a 'surprise' last week, had her kittens today."
"It looks like the cat we were fostering ran out of ink as she formed these kittens."
"Two weeks ago my wife brought home a pregnant foster cat. I wasn't so sure about having a cat giving birth in our office, or the messes the kittens would surely make. Then I met the mom, Jade, and I felt good about fostering. Today I met her 5 kittens, and now I feel great about fostering."
"We have brand new kittens in our home and it's really just the best thing ever."
