We are all incredibly whipped for cats here. That's the one thing that every ICanHasCheezburger writer and user has in common. We just cannot help it. We look at these fluffy little pawfect kitties, and that's it - one glance, and our hearts are melted. One meow, one headbutt, and we're ready to give these felines everything that they will ever want. And you know what? We're not the only ones. Cats have been leaving their paw marks throughout history for the longest time, and it seems that humans have always been whipped for them.
All the way from itty bitty naval ship kittens getting their own tiny hammocks throughout history to paintings of cats destroying stuff over the centuries - people have found ways to commemorate the purrfection that is Cat forever and always. Today, we are adding more to that appreciation of cat history by showing you a whole thread of absolutely ridiculous paintings of cats from different periods in time and different places in the world.
Because why not? Why wouldn't someone in Germany in the 12th century decide to pain a cat churning butter? Cats can clearly do everything in the world - including this. It's only right to commemorate the ability of this either massive cat or very small butter churning thingy in a painting.
And of course, someone in England in the 14th century needed to make sure that we all know and remember that cats indeed have the ability to play musical instruments. They can hold the bow and the fiddle at the same time, of course, that's fact. Don't overthink it, just say thank you for this piece of history.
