Retail is a hell of a thing. And when "the customer is always right" mentality comes out, we're sometimes left with incredible lessons about how far people are willing to go when they can't have something, especially when they're wrong.
Most people, lets call them "adults," are pretty adaptable when it comes to minor inconveniences. "I thought it went this way, but then I learned it was a different way. You live and you learn" they say, moving on with their lives. But there's another type of person who will dig their heels in over a supposition. To them, new knowledge is an undermining of their authority. To them, being proven wrong isn't simply the result of a discussion. It's interpreted as a vote of no confidence in their character, and an assault on their entire sense of self. These people are called a@@holes.
For another tale of an unreasonable customer getting what-for, here's the employee who reversed a customer's coin revenge by counting it all out.
