If you've been online over the past two months, there's no way you've missed the onslaught of Morbius Memes that have been dominating every corner of social media. The failed Sony release starring Jared Leto has inspired such a wave of ironic fanfare that Sony decided it would be a wise idea to rerelease the movie last weekend. The result? Morbius has bombed for a second time, making only $85k on Friday, or about $82 per theater. While these numbers are embarrassing for Sony, they are hilarious for the people who made the Morbius meme the inescapable online juggernaut it is today.
How did we get here? It's as if Sony thought that Morbius was a cult classic like The Room, which similarly has an ironic fan culture of people who think the movie is so bad, it's great. Unfortunately, the place where Morbius and The Room diverge is that The Room is terrible in an entertaining way, while Morbius is just terrible. The memes about Morbius are the only entertaining thing about it. The failure of the rerelease of Morbius has caused yet another resurgence of memes and discourse about the film. Against all odds, it is still Morbin time.

The numbers aren't looking good for good ol' Morby.
Marvel thinks bad movie + memes = profit.
The cycle will never end. It will never not be Morbin time.
