Every week, Reddit's Am I The Asshole thread is chock full of people posting their most hilarious and ridiculous situations, and this week was no exception. We like perusing those threads and finding the laughable ones out of the bunch, and our favorite ones are when it's like a little bit of Am I The Asshole, combined with Relationship Advice. Extra points if there are also animals involved, since who doesn't love animals, right? That's why this thread in particular cracked us up. It's about a wife, a husband, a baby, a cat, and an extra bedroom that isn't exactly being used effectively. Sounds exciting, no?
Apparently, when OP and her husband got married, and moved into their current two bedroom apartment, she just assumed that their eventual children would get the spare room. But, her husband converted the room into a bedroom for the cat. And, while the cat seems to enjoy it, OP's not so sure it's the best use of space anymore. Especially considering their son is now 10 months old! Most children don't stay in their parents' bedroom for more than a few months, so something is seriously off balance in this house.
That's why OP decided to bring up the issue to her husband, and that's when he decided to throw a major temper tantrum. He stormed out, locked himself in the cat room, and left OP holding the bag. So, she had to decide how to move forward, and turned to Reddit for a little push in the right direction. It's a bummer that she's going through it, but at least they had some good advice for her! Check out what we mean down below, and keep checking back for more content just like this!
We're not entirely sure how to process this situation either, but we're going to try. This woman and her husband are still sleeping with their ten month old child in the room, even though they have a perfectly good room right next to theirs that the cat barely uses! It sounds like they need to get some of their priorities in order.
We understand that a lot of people like to consider their pets as their children, but seriously, Man? This guy has an actual child in the same house, and is still hanging onto the cat being his daughter. She can be an important part of the family, sure, but we think the son deserves the bedroom. Do you guys agree?
