Accidental Puppies On Purpose? OP Wants Answers And Reddit Wants To Help

Sometimes, a question gets posted on Reddit's Relationship Advice or Am I The Asshole pages that is way above Reddit's pay grade. It's usually the type of thing where people are told to go see a lawyer or a doctor instead of asking stranger's on the internet. In this case, it was people saying OP should hire a private investigator! Sounds crazy, but stick with us for a moment and you'll see what we mean.

OP is a farmer. He handles almost everything for his parents' small property, maintaining pens for a herd of sheep and a herd of goats, as well as raising two dedicated herding dogs to guard their livestock from predators. But, with so much responsibility on his plate, OP also has to keep some pretty strict rules on the property. One of the most important is that other people aren't allowed to bring their dogs over. OP's dogs are working dogs, not really pets, and since he also studs them out, there's a pregnancy risk for anyone bringing their pets over. Lo and behold, OP's girlfriend didn't listen to him, let her friend bring a dog over, and now there's a litter of puppies running around that nobody has the means to support! When OP turned to Reddit to ask if he was in the wrong for refusing to pay, he got a resounding Hell No, but also a lot of answers suggesting that this was all a setup. Honestly, we feel the same way too. So, we're waiting on an update to see if Taylor or the girlfriend admit guilt here. But, until then, enjoy the rest of this ridiculous and hilarious thread so far.     Doesn't Sound Insane Yet

    Font - I know this sounds insane but its been causing grief for weeks. I moved back home a few years ago to take over my parents' hobby farm. My parents asked I continue to keep sheep and goat herds. Predator animals are common so we've always had livestock guard dogs there. I have 2, they are very well trained and socialized, but I don't allow dogs I don't know on the farm unless I'm there the entire time. The set up is like an 'H' - One side is the sheep pastures/barn, the other side is goats.

    This sounds like a case for Maury already. This guy doesn't want to pay to support the puppies that his dog created, but, he thinks he has a valid reason. We have to admit, at the start we were skeptical of how OP was going to convince us, but by the end, we were totally on his side. You'll see more if you keep reading.

    Disaster Waiting To Happen

    Font - One of my dogs is a male and not neutered for reasons relating to the community and us all knowing where our helpers come from and are going to since these doggos perform a specific function in a farming community. What the heck is she doing bringing a dog in heat to a farm with an un-neutered work dog, especially after specifically being told not to?

    What Do We Think?

    Font - I asked my cousin while I was gone, he said he and his wife saw the dog on the leash. Taylor left the day I got home. Weeks later her dog had puppies. Gf admitted they only put Taylor's dog on the leash when my cousin was over, and let her run the rest of the time.     Font - aitapuppy_power OP 15 hr. ago It was mid-March and the pups are just about 4 weeks old now. I did pay for Taylor to do a heritage test on the puppies, and they are his. Two looks like little versions of him to boot. I wouldn't want anything from the sale of the pups, I generally charge a stud fee and/or pick of goat/sheep until my female gets close to retiring lol I have had the thought it might've been planned as others have suggested and it was...I'd be done. Not only are you NTA, the fact that you're not getting the answer IS the answer, in my opinion. There are SO damn many things that can go wrong with an unleashed dog on a farm with livestock even without the dog being in heat. This is her own fault, you told her not to bring her dog and she did anyway, knowing her own dog was in heat. She's a moron.
