The news can be so brutal sometimes, and it's hard not to just tune out and try to avoid having to listen to all of that evil. But, every once in a while we come across a story that's so heartwarming, it makes up for all the bad stuff we had to sift through. This news story from this week is one of those stories, as it literally brought us to the verge of tears with just how sweet and smart some animals are. This time, the animal in question is Harry, a ginger cat from Cambridge who has become a bit of an internet sensation thanks to his efforts to cheer up hospital patients and staff at Addenbrooke.
Harry's antics have been well documented on social media, and there's even a Facebook page run by staff at the hospital to compile Henry sightings and stories. So, we wanted to join the party and give Harry a little appreciation post of his own. This funny little fella has brightened countless peoples days at the hospital, and the kicker is he's not even supposed to be there! Not only is Harry not allowed in (since he's not a service animal), but his owners live right down the road! Still, instead of hanging at home, he prefers to kick it with his friends in the white lab coats instead, and we're pretty glad he does. Below you'll see a bunch of a pictures of Harry that people have taken over the years, plus a few quotes about just how much he means to the Addenbrooke community. And, if you like what you see, keep scrolling for more incredible content just like this!
Here's Harry sitting outside of the hospital. His owners live right down the block, so he's always able to dip home and get a bite to eat if he needs, which is good, considering everyone at the hospital has been cautioned not to feed him! The doctors and nurses at this hospital want to make sure all of their patients, including Henry, stay healthy, so they're not letting him be overfed!
Residents at the hospital talk often about how Harry will help them cheer up after a hard day, or help prepare them before the start of a long one. Honestly, maybe they need to think about making him the hospital mascot or something at this point. Then, maybe at least he could get the credentials to go inside the building.
