Hey friends. You know that moment right after you give a cat some loving pats, where they tilt their little heads down towards the areas of their body that have been p and start grooming themselves. As if to say- 'ew, human, you dare touch me with your human germs?' Well, it is not actually like that. not at all. No need to be offended! This little phenomenon is called mutual grooming.
It's like when cats take turns licking each other. They are grooming each other, but with humans, the grooming looks a bit different! Anyway, we wanted to let all cat-loving, ICanHas reading, pawesome move-making humans know that there is no reason to be offended by this purely feline act. Cats often obsessively groom to remove odors to protect themselves or to avoid being exposed. So don't worry, your cats still love you even though they groom themselves after being pet.
Hey, we've all been there! What might seem like a very deliberate brush off the shoulder is actually a cute way of the cat checking out the traces of scents that humans leave on them after getting a good petting.
"Yes and when that happens, I immediately lick my hands... like a lot, even spit on them, then I clean them on my cat, he will angrily spend the next hour cleaning its body"
