Cheeky Reddit Confessional Gives Cautionary Advice For New Dog Owners
There are a number of common mistakes that first time pet owners make, although some are more common than others. For example, we've heard of plenty of people forgetting the dog at home when they go for a drive to the dog park. We've also heard of lots of people accidentally feeding their dogs the wrong thing and having to run to the doctor. But, what you hear about much less often are people who named their pets, and then later regretted it. In this situation, something similar is going on, but this woman wasn't even the one who named her dog in the first place!
This Reddit post had us laughing for hours, because it's a very simple confessional posted by a dog owner who wanted to stop other people from making the same mistake she had. The mistake in question? She waited way too long to name her dog. So, when a young girl misheard her one day while petting the dog, and apparently renamed the pooch, this lady was stuck and had to just go with it! It's all worked out in the end, the dog is happy and healthy and fits right in at home– even with a weird name like Asker– but still, OP wanted to make sure nobody else's dog suffered the same fate! What happened next was an absolute riot, as hundreds of Redditors poured in with their own comments about their own pets's strange names, and the origins tied to them. Each story was more funny than the next, and to top it all off, OP posted some beautiful pictures of Asker that we were able to include down below. This is why we love little kids. They're always making the most wholesome mistakes, and in this case, it created a hilarious story for this woman to share as the years go by. Plus, it probably helped to endear her to this pet that she wasn't sure if she'd be keeping anyway. So, that little girl did a very good deed that day without realizing it!

OMG, This Is Some Solid Advice
Even though Asker is a pretty ridiculous name, it sounds like it's given OP a lot of opportunities to have some fun at the expense of her neighbors. Plus, Asker can't mind it so much if she hasn't asked to have her name changed. So, everyone wins in the end! (As long as we all follow OP's advice)
