For anyone who says doggos, or any animals for that matter, don't have emotions - this one's for you. We recently stumbled upon a Twitter thread where someone posted a crying puppy with the caption 'Tears of happiness after being rescued and given warm milk'. As per usual, some people completely missed the point of the post and started blabbing on about how dogs' tears have 0 correlation with their emotions. Yeah, okay. While we can't say for sure whether the puppy is, indeed, crying because of the warm milk… what we can say is not only are doggos emotional, but some also express their emotions through tears.
Science-shmience, we have stories from real people who can confirm that doggos are more than capable of crying happy tears, especially when they're grateful. When would they be grateful, you may wonder? For example, when they finally get rescued and adopted into forever homes with loving hoomans. We hope you enjoy the thread!
"There's nothing sweeter than a grateful pup. This one had tears when I petted her. She was the ugliest pup there, & no one noticed her but me. I thought she was adorable. Fast forward, she was flown to a new home in the US! Now 3 years old!"
Can we just say that you're absolutely amazing?! She's beautiful!
"HI! Mia here! I know how you feel and the feelings will always be with you! When my hooman came into my life I knew she would always love me! It's a great joy you get in your heart when you know you are finally HOME!"
There's no better feeling in the world! Anyone else balling their eyes out?
