It all began when all the employees of Bank Street Bar received and email stating that every single person was going to be fired. The only way they could potentially keep their job is if they came in and interviewed all over again. The email sent seems callous and insensitive and simply just appalling management skills. The new manager says that the owner wanted to "clean house," and that's "exactly" what he intended to do. Obviously, employees were not happy about this at all. The best part is that one of these employees still had the login to the bar's Instagram account and oh baby, whoever it was did not hold back. They instantly leaked the email and then some. (The employee who took over the IG account and leaked everything is unknown.)

It wasn't just leaked emails from the new horrid boss that was being posted on the now hacked IG account, but also memes about the bar. Allegedly, the new manager was responded to the posts in the comments and even to other accounts commenting on the posts. He was apparently very on brand and was completely rude and unprofessional. His go to is that he "is just being honest."

Some people are appalled that a disgruntled employee has taken over the IG account as revenge on the bar. There are different reasoning for why the owner wanted to "clean house" and some legitimize those reasoning. However, nobody is onboard with the way the new management went in "cleaning house."

"All (yes all) of the employees were terminated unjustly from Bank Street Bar, without any notice. 12 staff members were let go, during the slowest season of the service industry (summer) with no backup, no pay, and no notice."

The employees have since had a GoFundMe created for them in order to survive now being unemployed. Since the IG hacking, many usual patrons have vowed to boycott the establishment. Even some bands that were scheduled to play at the venue have abruptly canceled their show in solidarity with the employees.
