Greetings, ICanHasers, welcome back! We hope everyone is having a pawesome weekend. To make sure we end the weekend on a good note, we're back with our weekly feline appreciation segment where each week, we highlight a particular cat breed or color scheme. Last week it was the Russian Blue, the week before that the Divine Devon Rex. Welp, this week the spotlight is on drum roll… the beloved Torties!
Tortoiseshell cats are not a specific breed. They get their name from their tortoiseshell multi-color fur. Fun fact, torties are mainly a female-dominated pack. Maybe that's why they're known as the sassiest cats of the clan. Though they have a big personality and tons of tortitude, they're incredibly loyal, playful, and fascinating. Torties are high-energy cats and require sufficient playtime. All we can say is life is never boring when there's a tortie in the house. If you don't believe us, check out these fellow tortie owners and their cats!
"Everyday for over a month I find which car she's hiding under in my apartment complex and sit with her. I will leave her food/water as well. Finally last night she trusted me enough to come out and eat beside me. It makes my heart so happy."
"Taters has been hesitant to go out into our porch room since her sister Cecilia passed away last week, but she has finally taken to returning and has claimed the most tortie photo op spot ever. First photo, pre-tortietude. second photo, post-tortietude."
