90s Throwback Parody Calls Millennials Out on Ridiculous Trends

It's kind of wild and bizarre to look back at old trends and realize people once took them very seriously. Like, did no one realize that 90s kids looked insane and ridiculous? I don't mean to throw any shade here but this parody, created by @layallure, just proves my point.

@layallure breaks down everything about 90s kids and their crazy trends, starting with weird makeup/skincare choices like Stridex (which never worked and really just burned your face, if we're being honest retrospectively). Then, there's slathering endless amounts of apricot-scented products on your face hoping to God something happens when all that ends up happening is more acne (I guess people still do this). Let's also not forget the nasty blue eyeshadow that probably gave all of us pink eye.

And of course, there's the technology. Why is it that I feel personally embarrassed and victimized any time I come across evidence of 90s-era telephones, cassette tapes, walkmans, and the most egregious one of them all, AOL Instant Messenger? I mean, the dial-up noise in and of itself is triggering. It's basically PTSD at this point.

The fact that we managed to get through all of these trends and come out on the other side semi-intact is a testament to the strength of the human condition. Looking back at this era, we should all just admit that we looked awful. We might as well turn that cringe into laughter. There's nothing we can do about the past. Check out the full video below!
