'This little piggy got an ultrasound': Chonky Guinea Pig Goes to the Vet Because of a Pregnancy Scare and the Results are Adorable

Sometimes we look lovingly down at our pets and ponder for a moment why they're so chonky. Maybe they're legitimately enormous and are actually pregnant or maybe it's simpler then that… they're just fat. For animals, it's much more complicated to check for a pregnancy than it is with humans— there's no pee-stick for pets. For your furry wonders, we have to bring them directly to a vet, ultrasound their pudgy tummy, and check their girth for writhing ghostly shapes of babies to be. One guinea pig has gone viral for having the cutest ultrasound video of all time.

Gigi, the chonkiest Polish guinea pig, was becoming gigantically fat according to her owner, which was causing some worries. Surely she wasn't just getting large, she must have gotten pregnant, right? Concerned, Gigi's owner attempted to do her own pregnancy check, by pinching and prodding parts of her guinea pig's protruding belly, but couldn't get an accurate sense of whether or not there were any little piggies in there.

Since she lives in an enclosure with two other male guinea's, it wasn't entirely impossible that she had gotten pregnant. Apparently there's no way of really knowing and guinea pigs are known to reproduce like rabbits. Literally. So Gigi's owner did the one thing that any loving parent would do. She took her to the vet to get a quick ultrasound to check on the status of her belly, as well as the contents.

Gigi, of course, was not very keen on visiting the vet. Like all animals, she was wary of traveling and didn't like getting cold goopy gel places on her shaved and exposed tummy. So vulnerable! Not only that, but her owner batista-bomb flipped her on her back so that the vet tech could get a good angle with the ultrasound wand. That makes for an unhappy guinea pig. As she squeaks and squirms, the vet tech does her thing and gets a reading on her belly. To the naked eye, the screen just looks like a blobby blueish mess of an image and there's not much to see.

But according to the vet tech, a trained and experienced individual, it turns out that Gigi was NOT pregnant (*Jerry Springer audience gasp*). The false alarm proved that not only was Gigi being a cute and squeaky baby, but she also was fat enough to trick her owner into thinking she was preggers. So the verdict came in, Gigi is not pregnant, just thicc.
