There are many reasons that you should own a cat. First of all, cats are adorable. Second of all, there is no better feeling in this world than cuddling with a cat, and we will hear no argument against that statement. Third of all, cats are incredibly funny, and their ridiculousness makes our lives so much more entertaining than they usually are. Cats… cats are purrfection. That's why everyone should have a cat.
But cats are not just all of those things. Cats are also jerks. Now, we say that as a good thing. Cats being jerks is part of being a cat, and we, as cat owners, accept that. We more than accept it. We, in fact, love it, even if we're kind of sarcastic when we talk about it.

Yup. This kind of insanity is simply part of having a cat. They will indeed start sprinting in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason at all. They will get themselves stuck in some random place and end up yelling at you as if it's your fault that it happened. That's just how it is.
And yes, we would indeed do anything for our freaks. No matter how many times they wake us up in the middle of the night, no matter how many of our favorite things they destroy by pushing them off surfaces, we will always love them harder than anything in the world.
