'I hope he knows he's jealous of a potato': Perplexed woman asks for advice after ex has jealous meltdown over a phallic potato

Jealous partners are one of the most common tropes when we discuss toxic relationships and bad partners. There are the jealous types who are controlling and don't want their lovers to have any friendships or relationships other than the romantic partnership they're already in. There are the types who behave like conspiracy theorists, convinced that when you don't text back you MUST be in someone else's DMs. There are also the ones who stalk, combing over their partner's internet presence looking for clues of dreaded infidelity. 

This past week, thanks to Twitter and a now-deleted thread on Reddit's r/AmITheAsshole subreddit, we were introduced to a new kind of jealous partner or ex-partner in this case. The kind of ex-partner who gets jealous over a picture of a potato. The tweet featuring the tale garnered quite a bit of attention and some seriously flabbergasted responses.
