The internet has grown so rapidly that sometimes we take for granted how recently it was that its' tendrils just didn't reach some people: People just used to not be online. And maybe some still are — "Castaway" style — in remote areas, avoiding the screens that seem inevitable. These days, it's all but impossible not to be on the interwebs.
Most people in the 2020s have some kind of social media, even if it's just a Facebook account. However, the internet is slowly seeping into every aspect of life, like with new food delivery services, which can bring you food from almost any restaurant around you, a concept that's relatively new, yet completely life-changing. Then, when we cook, we use online recipes that are the closest to five stars - just forget about that cookbook that's been collecting dust on top of your fridge.
We can buy almost anything, even if it's from the other side of the planet… You want a shirt from Indonesia and need it delivered in 72 hours? Easy. Plus, these days, not only can you use the internet to talk to folks globally, but it's easy to have friends who you meet online who live on the other side of the planet. Just think about what life would be like for even one day without the internet today… it would be pretty weird and likely incredibly disruptive. These people below feel that - they're all so used to our advanced new technology that they barely remember how to live without it.
