It's just "sheep" for both plural and solo for a reason, and that's because they're not solitary creatures. They love to love and get love in return. One woman stumbled upon her neighbor's lonely sheep and now she goes to visit him as much as possible and give him all the scratchies. When he sees her he runs straight to her with the utmost excitement and his floofly lil tail in full wagging mode.
One commenter said that it's possible the sheep is alone at the moment because: “Thats a male and his job is breeding and when he’s not doing that he’s on his own 'cause he’ll fight other potential males suitors.” Another said, “That's a Tup he will be on his own from the ewes now till summer time. He probably fights with other tups and is therefore on his own.” One person even commented, “the reason he's so friendly is because he's obviously been treated very well by the farmer.”
So thankfully—commenters to the rescue—it's most likely the sheep friend is not alone all the time. Apparently male sheep will straight up fight other males during the mating season, so they have to separate them until that urge passes. But in the meantime, he's making good friends with his human neighbor (@kttrabvel on TikTok) who calls him “Happy” because of how happy he is to see her every time.
She's trying to figure out whose pasture that is so she can meet the farmer and find out more about “Happy”—like what is his real name? Can she bring him treats? If so, what's his favorite kind? She can also tell the farmer, if they don't already know, exactly where Happy loves to get pet. (She's found out cheek and neck scratchies are his favorite.)
